Experience one of Alaska's best kept fishing secrets, the Gulkana River. Flowing south from Paxson Lake and offering King and Sockeye Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling, the Gulkana offers breathtaking scenery, white water rapids and a multitude of wildlife. Your Fly-In and Float adventure begins with a scenic float plane ride into Paxson Lake at the mouth of the Gulkana River. Along the way you will see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. You don't have to fish in order to enjoy this fantastic river. This adventure is unguided and we provide the camping equipment and rafting rental.		Photo Gallery
We provide our guest with only the best equipment and gear currently available. Our rafts are AIR Super Puma and plain Puma, self bailing 14+ foot. We frequently replace our gear to ensure our guests have new gear to work with. We have found these rafts work extremely well no matter what the Gulkana River condition may be. You will fish with St. Croix Legend Ultra fly rods & Ross Gunnison reels. Extra gear is provided if needed during your adventure.

Unguided Gulkana River Float & Fishing The Gulkana River is one of Alaska's best kept secrets, offering King and Sockeye Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling. Salmon fishing is scheduled during spawning which typically begins on June 22 and ends July 12. You can fish other species of fish between June 1 and the end of September.

• Unguided Gulkana River Float & Fishing:
  A 45 minute flight tour over the Gulkana River is provided enroute to Paxson Lake. Wildlife is often seen on this flightseeing trip on your way in to the starting point. This is approximately a 60 mile float trip through pristine Alaskan wilderness. You get six days and five nights at the lake/on the river for this cost and if you like you can spend additional days for no additional cost.

Prices start at $295.00 per person with a 2 person minimum for a Paxson Lake drop-off.
Pickup charge of $50 at pre-arranged pickup point. (Sourdough or Gulkana Bridge)
